Now available at movie2k, Out of the Furnace is a powerful crime drama about one man’s quest to find justice for his missing brother. Out of the Furnace is the story of two brothers, Russell Blaze (Bale) and his brother Rodney (Affleck), both of who dream of finding a future and escaping the difficult conditions in Pennsylvania. However, their dreams are dashed when Russell gets incarcerated. While Russell is languishing in prison, his younger brother gets entangled with the criminal groups prowling around the impoverished Rust Belt. Following his release, Russell decides to take matters into his own hands and get justice for Rodney. While the movie has some predictable elements, there are a few twists and turns thrown in, and the characters are all fleshed out and appear real.
Out of the Furnace is a very grim crime thriller, and the mood is dark and gritty. It is a violent film, and isn’t the kind of movie you will want to watch if you to be cheered up. That being said it is compelling both for the original storyline and the stellar performances from the cast. Christian Bale plays the role of Russell with aplomb, and the rest of the cast including Saldana and Shepard as Russel’s uncle, are just as convincing in their roles. But the one who steals the show is definitely Woody Harrelson as the criminal mastermind who reins over his turf like a king. Taking everything into consideration, this is a truly remarkable film, with A-list performers depicting working class people caught up difficult situations.
